Special guest lecture : Ambassador of Republic of Korea to Indonesia
On Friday, 3rd May 2019, BINUS UNIVERSITY held a special guest lecture session with the Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea to Indonesia, H.E. Kim Chang Beum. The ambassador shared with students, academics, and staff of BINUS UNIVERSITY information about the strong bilateral relations between Indonesia and South Korea and future of two nations.
The areas of cooperation between both nations predominantly focus on trade, investment, and security among others; South Korea is one of Indonesia’s most important trade partners and biggest foreign investors.
Indonesian and South Korean higher education institutions have been developing strong partnerships in the environment of flourishing friendship between the two countries. As a university that extensively collaborates with international institutions, BINUS UNIVERSITY has initiated partnerships with 20 South Korean universities including Hanyang University, Sungkyunkwan University, Dankook University, Dongguk University, Kyung Hee University, and Chung-Ang University. These collaborations are centred around student and faculty exchange initiatives as well as research programm.
Through the guest lecture program, BINUS UNIVERSITY hopes to increase collaboration with its South Korean counterparts to better prepare its students and staff for an era of regional integration. Circulation of people and ideas in higher education is expected to strengthen the knowledge base and forge longstanding friendships to support future strategic projects.
