Faculty Member

Mr. Sofyan has experience as a Co-Founder of BabaGoose Coffee and as a Faculty Member at BINUS University, where he coordinated subject content, developed course outlines, and taught several undergraduate courses. He also worked as a Senior Insight Executive (Quantitative) at Illuminate Research Asia, where he conducted project set up and management, liaised with clients to structure research designs, and performed quantitative analysis and reporting for various industries. In addition, he worked at PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) in Human Capital – Recruitment, Training & Development, and as an Associates – Operating Consultant at UI Consulting. He also worked as a Sales & Cooperation Development Executive at Ariwiguna & Associates, where he was responsible for sales and service development, client relations, customer and market research, and strategic partnering development and relations.

Mr. Sofyan has been involved in several research projects funded by BINUS. These projects include “Transportation Optimization in Cold Supply Chain: A Case Study of a Third-Party Logistic,” “Analyzing Regional Postponement Center with System Dynamic Approach: A Case Study of a Pharmaceutical Company,” and “Pengelolaan Konflik Lintas Budaya: Studi Kasus Pada Perusahaan Manufaktur Sepatu Nike di Thailand.” Sofyan’s recent research projects include “Analisis Pengaruh Perilaku Adaptasi Konsumen terhadap Industri Aplikasi Dompet Elektronik” and “Analisis Dinamika Ekspor Kopi Robusta-Arabica Asal Indonesia,” both of which he worked on with H. Toto Edrinal Sebayang and Ferdinand Hadi.

Mr. Sofyan obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Management & Operations Management from the University of Brawijaya in 2010, where he was actively involved in various extracurricular activities such as AIESEC LC Unibraw, BEMFE Unibraw, CIES, LSME, and FORSIMAJA. He later pursued a Master’s degree in Marketing/Marketing Management, General from the same university in 2012, where he served as a Lecture Assistant, Statistical Tutor, and International Management Department Staff. In 2015-2016, he attended the Statistical Training Program at the Center for Education & Public Services and the Training Program at the Center for Japanese Study, both at the University of Indonesia, where he gained expertise in Forecasting Techniques, Econometrics for STATA & EViews, and NVIVO for Qualitative Inquiry.
