Profile

Damar is a PhD candidate in Human Resource Management at Taylors’ University in Malaysia, and holds a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management from The Robert Gordon University in the UK. He also has a bachelor’s degree in German Studies from the University of Indonesia, with concentrations in Neuro-Linguistic Psychology and Cross-Cultural studies.

He is currently a Lecturer at Bina Nusantara University in Indonesia, teaching courses on International Human Resource Management, Human Resource Management, Cross-Cultural Management, International Trade, Law in International Business, International Business Project I and II, and International Business. His research interests include technology acceptance in e-recruitment, the use of social media as a recruitment and selection tool, and the effects of entrepreneurial training on motivation.

Damar has authored several papers on topics related to his research interests, including “Factors Affecting Intention to Use a New Human Resource Information System at One of the Small and Medium Enterprises in Indonesia,” “E-recruitment: Extending Technology Acceptance Model in the Indonesian Context,” and “How Organisational Culture, Transformational Leadership, and Job Characteristics Affect Employee Engagement at PT XYZ”. He has also created online videos to help students gain a better understanding of cross-cultural management, and has received several research grants from Bina Nusantara University.

In addition to his academic work, Damar has worked as an HR training consultant for the East Timor government, an International Ambassador at Robert Gordon University in the UK, a trainer for PT Bina Prima Global, and an agency sales trainer for PT Commonwealth Life in Indonesia.

Lecturer – International Business Management at Binus Business School – Alam Sutera Campus – 2015 – Present

Teaches Teach undergraduate courses for global and regular classes, supervise undergraduate thesis on the topic of Human Resource Management, act as faculty supervisor for internship students, act as academic supervisor, do research, and community outreach.

  • > October 2015- July 2017: HR Training Consultant for East Timor. Conducted training needs analysis for the East Timor government then based on the analysis, wrote the human resource training module (compensation and benefit, training and development, communication, and team building) and once the module finished, Damar delivered the training. After delivering the training, Damar did the post training evaluation.
  • > September 2013- December 2014: International Ambassador at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, UK. During his postgraduate study, Damar also worked as an International Ambassador at my university. Damar’s main activity was getting involved in the college marketing and brand activities in Southeast Asia, explained the course and study experience to the prospective student.
  • > January 2013-August 2013: Trainer at PT Bina Prima Global (local consulting firm in Indonesia). Designed and delivered training program, conducted training need analysis, met with clients.
  • > November 2011-November 2012: Agency Sales Trainer at PT Commonwealth Life (Subsidiary of Commonwealth Bank Australia and one of insurance firm in Indonesia). Over achieved 2 semesters Key Performance Indicators (KPI), designed and developed training program, developed training module, delivered training program to sales force on product knowledge, motivation, soft skills and technical skills. Did one on one session with sales force in order to motivate and help them to achieve their target.
  • > January 2011-October 2011: Associate Facilitator and Lead Facilitator at PT Kubik Kreasi Sisilain- Part time jobs (local consulting firm in Indonesia). Executed training plan, met with clients, conducted corporate diagnostic tools, lead a team consist of training officer and facilitator, a project manager on field, worked based on project.
