Dr. Ahmad Syamil, CFPIM, CIRM, CSCP

Dr. Ahmad Syamil, CFPIM, CIRM, CSCP is currently the Dean of Binus Business School, Bina Nusantara University, Jakarta, Indonesia. Prior to his Deanship, he held the position of Deputy Dean in the same school. Dr. Ahmad Syamil was an Associate Professor at Arkansas State University and taught variety of courses during 2000 – Jan 2015 (14 years 6 months) at undergraduate and/or MBA levels, including Operations Management, Statistics, Management Science/Operation Research/Quantitative Analysis, Management Information System, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Supply Chain Management (SCM), Data Mining and Business Analytics. He was educated in Institut Teknologi Bandung in the field of Mechanical Engineering Activities (Bachelor/S1), University of Houston, C.T. Bauer College of Business in the field of Business Administration (Master/S2) and in The University of Toledo (PhD/S3). He is also active in the professional societies such as Alumni ITB, AISEC, APICS and PERMIAS. He is widely known in the Supply Chain and Operation Management practitioners since he moderated the online discussion group of this community of practice.

In mid-2014, Feriadi contemplated the way back to his home while accompanied by the sound of radio newscaster’s in his car. The news mostly discussed about some of the structural weaknesses in the economy of Indonesia, such as the rise of the e-commerce and the leadership system that have less influence on employee performance. With the rocketing competition from similar businesses, he thought harder on how to increase the growth of their company while not unsettling the current value of JNE.
