Gamification in Education: New Experience for High School Students in Jogjakarta
Binus Business School – Business Management & Marketing Program performed knowledge sharing with our future students in Jogjakarta from 7th to 8th May 2024. In this event, as the continuation from our activity last year, the program introduced the concept of Gamification within the education perspective, enhancing the importance of fun in knowledge mining.
This time, the event was held at SMA Cahaya Bangsa Utama, a very prestigous international high school located at the center of Jogja. The event was attended by nearly 50 students. They were divided into groups, in which they were tasked to sell as many units as possible on several products of their choosing. This selling tasks was part of Simulation being licensed by Binus Business School from Harvard Business Publishing. The whole event created such enthusiasm that the competition became quite personal, in which everyone would like to involved in the discussion process. As always, Game-based learning has never disappoint anyone to reach their intended learning objectives. This is our 2nd time of using Gamification to introduce our program. We have great hope that similar activity will be held in the near future.
