Research Bootcamp 2025 – Session 1: Program Socialization & Journal Selection

Speakers: Dr. Sekar Wulan P, S.Si., M.Pd – Graduate Student Publication Coordinator

The first session of the Research Bootcamp 2025 was held on 13 September 2025, organized by the Research & Community Engagement division. The session introduced doctoral students of the Doctor of Research in Management (DRM) program to the essentials of academic publishing and journal selection.

On this occasion, Ms. Sekar, as the Publication Coordinator, guided participants through the process of understanding academic journals and the tools required to prepare their manuscripts. The session highlighted the importance of selecting appropriate journals aligned with research focus and publication goals, equipping doctoral students with the knowledge to strategically plan their research dissemination.

In line with the broader theme of the bootcamp, the session also emphasized the role of doctoral scholars as strategic leaders in advancing impactful research. High-quality publications not only enhance academic visibility and institutional prestige but also strengthen policy influence, foster innovation, support industry applications, and create opportunities for international collaboration.

Through this initial engagement, participants were encouraged to adopt a leadership mindset—aligning their research with global and national priorities, advancing interdisciplinary approaches, and building meaningful collaborations to maximize the impact of their scholarly work.
