DISSERTATION SUMMARY

Indonesia has made significant progress toward achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC), but there are weaknesses in service quality often associated with patient care issues. The adoption of digital technology has not yet fully resolved these issues, particularly in smaller hospitals widely spread across rural areas, as its use is not well-coordinated. This study aims to explore the influence of Digital Adoption Capability (DAC) on Hospital Performance (HP) in addressing these service challenges. Based on a survey conducted with 285 leaders of Class C and D hospitals across Indonesia, using SEM analysis, it was found that DAC has a positive and significant impact on HP. Digital Leadership (DL) plays a significant role in performance, both directly and indirectly. However, ICT Literacy (ICT) and Patient-Centric (PC) approaches do not directly affect HP but produce significant results through DAC. The study also reveals that Environmental Dynamism (ED) significantly drives the need to improve performance through digital adoption. This model is crucial for hospital management and contributes to providing insights into how digital technology can connect healthcare professionals and patients, resulting in safe and quality healthcare services in an ever-changing environment.
