Dissertation Examination of Danang Cahyono
On Saturday, 22 March 2025, a Dissertation Examination for a DRM on behalf of Danang Cahyono [2240003970] entitled “ANTECEDENTS OF E-COMMERCE BUSINESS EXECUTION TOWARD FIRM BUSINESS PERFORMANCE MODERATED BY E-COMMERCE ENABLER FOR CONSUMER-PACKAGED GOODS COMPANIES” was held in Anggrek Campus, Bina Nusantara University.
The dissertation examination was led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Harjanto Prabowo, M.M and attended by a team of promotors and examiners. There were three promotors in attendance with Prof. Dr. Mts. Arief, M.M., MBA., CPM as a Promotor, Dr. Asnan Furinto, S.T., M.M as Co-Promotor 1, and Dr. Viany Utami Tjhin, S.Kom., M.M as Co-Promotor 2. There were also examiners present, with Prof. Idris Gautama So, S.E., S.Kom., M.M., Ph.D. as Examiner 1, Willy Gunadi, S.Kom., M.M., Ph.D. as Examiner 2, and Dr. Jastiro Abi, ST., MEngSc., MBA. as Examiner 3. Dr. H. Faransyah Agung Jaya, SE, MSF, ACC was also present during this dissertation examination.
DISSERTATION SUMMARY
The consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry has been impacted significantly by the rise of e-commerce. This study investigates the impact of organization agility, innovation capability, and distribution strategy transformation on firm business performance for consumer-packaged goods (CPG) in e-commerce. This study used partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) and used a non-probability convenience sampling technique to collect data through online surveys. There are 103 senior management from CPG companies participating in the survey. This study also examines the mediating role of e-commerce business execution and the moderating effect of e-commerce enabler collaboration on this relationship. The findings of the study suggest that organization agility, innovation capability and distribution strategy transformation have a significant positive impact on firm business performance in e-commerce. Furthermore, the results indicate that e-commerce business execution plays a significant mediating role in the relationship between organization agility, innovation capability, and distribution strategy transformation and firm business performance in e-commerce. Meanwhile, e-commerce enabler collaboration shows insignificant moderation for the relationship between e-commerce business execution and firm business performance. This research contributes to the existing literature by providing a comprehensive understanding of the impact of organizational agility, innovation capability, and distribution strategy transformation on firm business performance in e-commerce and the mediating and moderating effect of e-commerce business execution and e-commerce enabler collaboration. The findings have practical implications for CPG companies seeking to enhance their performance in the e-commerce environment, thus can strengthening the overall business performance.

BACKGROUND
Born in Semarang, Central Java, on November 22, 1975. Danang Cahyono has built a career spanning over 25 years, leading business transformation, digital innovation, and operational excellence across diverse industries. Danang earned his Bachelor’s in Management from Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (1994–1998) and later pursued a Master’s in Management at Universitas Gadjah Mada (2001–2003). His professional journey began in 1999 with Procter & Gamble (P&G), where he spent four years (1999–2003) developing expertise in trade marketing, account management, and large-scale distribution. His ability to execute commercial strategies with precision laid the groundwork for his next roles at Mead Johnson Nutritional (2003–2005) and Reckitt Benckiser (2005–2006). In 2006, he transitioned to the technology sector by joining Nokia, where he spent nearly four years (2006–2010) leading retail and channel development.
Danang embraced entrepreneurship as Founder & CEO of PT Surya Lintas Nusantara (2010–2015), where he built and scaled a multi-channel distribution business, blending entrepreneurial agility with structured corporate governance. This experience provided him with firsthand insights into business scalability, financial discipline, and market[1]driven innovation. Concurrently, he joined PT Global Teleshop Tbk (2012–2015) and PT Trikomsel Oke Tbk (2013–2015) as a Director, where he played a pivotal role in leading PT Global Teleshop’s IPO (Initial Public Offering) and transition into a publicly listed company.
He transitioned to Westcon-Comstor Asia, where he served as Managing Director for nearly five years (2015–2020), leading market expansion, enterprise solutions, and high[1]value partnerships across the Asia-Pacific region. His leadership played a critical role in integrating technology-driven business models and expanding digital enterprise solutions. Since 2020, Danang has been at the forefront of Indonesia’s digital commerce transformation as part of SIRCLO, where he first took on the role of Chief Operating Officer (2020–Present) and later served as CEO of Enterprise Solutions (2022–2023).

Winning the 5-Minute Dissertation Contest at the Binus Doctoral Program Review (BDPR) 2021, serving as a presenter at the International Conference on Family Business & Entrepreneurship (ICFBE) 2021 in Bali, and earning the Grand Prize for Best Paper Award at ICFBE 2021.
