DISSERTATION SUMMARY

As an archipelagic country, maritime transportation plays a crucial role for Indonesia. One of the dominant components of maritime transportation is the port, serving as a node for the transfer of goods and passengers. Amid global developments, port management must ensure operational performance meets applicable standards. However, the operational performance of ports in Indonesia currently faces significant challenges. This is proven by the Container Port Performance Index (CPPI) rankings, where several Indonesian ports rank significantly lower than those in other developing countries. Considering that port business processes involve many stakeholders, port management needs to optimize internal resources while fostering interaction and collaboration with other port stakeholders to enhance operational performance. This study will further examine the impact of Digital Adoption, Service Quality, and Stakeholder Collaboration on Port Operational Performance, with Networking Capability as a mediating factor and Environmental Dynamism as a moderating factor, using quantitative methods through Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The unit of analysis in this study is container ports/terminals in Indonesia. The study population comprises all ports/terminals under the operational area of PT. Pelindo (Persero) and members of the Indonesian Port Business Association (ABUPI) that serve containers. The sampling technique used is a census method of 72 container ports in Indonesia. Analysis results indicate that Digital Adoption does not have a significant effect on Port Operational Performance, either directly or through the mediation of Networking Capability. Port Service Quality has a significant direct effect on Port Operational Performance, but no significant effect when mediated by Networking Capability. Stakeholder Collaboration has a significant effect on Port Operational Performance, both directly and through the mediation of Networking Capability. Additionally, Networking Capability has a significant effect on Port Operational Performance, and the moderating role of Environmental Dynamism in this relationship is also proven.
