2021 Case Competition

Emerald Indonesia case writing competition

Important notes:

  1. Due date: 30 November 2021.
  2. Submissions should be made at ScholarOne manuscript central. When asked if you’re submitting to a case study competition please select: “Indonesia Case Competition 2021”.
  3. The total prize fund is IDR 12.6 mil. Prizes are awarded to the overall winner and four runners-up. Your case submission will be considered for international publication in the Emerging Markets  Case Studies collection (EMCS).
  4. Submission Criteria: Cases should have a developing and emerging markets focus (central and eastern Europe, Latin America, Africa, Asia, Oceania and Middle East)
    All cases should be teaching cases based on a real situation in a real company, with a clear decision-making situation, and prepared in accordance with case writing guidelines
    Cases should only be submitted by those primarily based at an Indonesian higher learning institutions.
    Academic (research) cases will not be accepted for evaluation by the jury
    Case studies submitted should not have been published before in their current or substantially similar form, or be under consideration for publication in any ISSN/ ISBN-registered publication or with any other case-centre.
    All case studies must be accompanied by a consent to publish release form, which has been completed and signed by the management of the company or individuals included in the case
    Cases will be automatically entered into the peer review process. Selected cases will be published in Emerald Emerging Markets Case Studies [EEMCS] collection [ISSN 2045-0621]. By submitting your case to the competition, you are agreeing to have your case published in EMCS and complete a minimum of 2 rounds of review if required.
    Please note that the cash prizes are only paid upon publication of the cases (or at the conclusion of the second revision stage if not published earlier) and cases cannot be submitted for publication elsewhere while being considered by EMCS.

EFMD Case Writing Competition

Important Notes:

  1. Due date: June 2021: Submission Open
    31 October: Deadline for Case Submission
    April 2022: Winners Announcement
  2. Eligibility Applicants:May apply individually or as a team;
    must represent a school or an institution (applications from individuals are not accepted);
    may enter the category of their choice, except the one sponsored by their institution;
    judges may submit a case in any category of their choice, except the one they are judging/their institution is sponsoring. They will not participate in the selection of prize winners in categories under which they submitted a case.Conditions:
    Case studies and associated material must be presented in English, include an executive summary and teaching notes; be anonymous (the name of the application or his/her institution should not feature in any of the documents); deal with real enterprises and/or organisations (company release form to be submitted if applicable); if your case has been published, please be aware that EFMD can only accept cases published after 1 January 2020; be in a PDF format (docx and doc files are no longer accepted); THERE IS NO LIMIT ON THE LENGTH OF THE CASE cases that do not meet these conditions will be excluded from the competition.

    Note: Copyright ownership will remain with the author. Multi-media presentation of cases is acceptable. The case must not have been a winner in previous EFMD Case Competitions.
    Publication
    The executive summary of the winning cases will be posted on the EFMD website. The executive summary submitted by the author may be published in a limited selection of international newspapers, in accordance with the agreements between those newspapers and EFMD. All authors will be encouraged to register with The Case Centre.
