Banner in e-Service
The banner referred to in this case is banner advertising which is the use of a rectangular graphic display that is usually placed above, below or next to the site of a web and online media property. There are two types of banner ads, namely the leaderboard that is horizontal and vertically called skyscrapers. Usually, banner ads are more based on images than text and are the most famous form of advertising in the world of digital business. The purpose of marketing through this banner is to promote a brand and to get visitors from a host website to come to the advertiser’s website. Some of the benefits of banner ads include increasing customer traffic, offering products or services sold, attracting customer attention, and giving promo announcements. Electronic Service (e-service) or electronic service is interpreted as an act, business, and show whose delivery is assisted by information technology. This e-service includes elements of e-tailing services, supported by customer support, as well as services or it can also be interpreted that e-service is an application by utilizing the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), where technology has a role to facilitate the delivery of a service or service. From this sense, e-service reflects three main components, namely as a service, service receiver, and service channel (technology). This statement was made by Rowley (2006). The more advanced the technology, the more challenges there are. According to Sheith and Sharma (2007), the challenge for e-service is still uneven ICT penetration, especially in developing countries. Usually, in developing countries internet access is still limited and internet speed is also still limited. If the case is like this, then the company will continue to use traditional platforms because of frequent technical problems, especially in the use of the internet. Another challenge is the rise of fraud cases circulating on the internet so that the possibility of a reduction from the benefits of the internet itself and then the emergence of spyware and security holes that cause a lack of privacy for customers. Both of these things make the company have to increase the security of its e-service. While the benefits of using e-service are very profitable such as being able to access a larger target customer, expanding market reach, lowering barriers to entry into new markets, improving the company’s image, gaining a competitive advantage, and the potential to increase customer knowledge. The application of banner ads in e-services can be seen with the many uses of providers from banner ads such as Google AdSense, Media.net, Facebook Ads, and many others. The use of banner ads will increase customer traffic for the e-service itself.
