Concept of Electronic Presentment and Payment (EPP) in E-Payment

 

Electronic payment and presentment (EPP) is a process that companies use to collect payments electronically. This can make it easier for users to make bill payments through electronic channels that are integrated with the system. It has become an important component in online banking in many financial institutions today. EBPP provides payment channels through systems such as Internet Banking, direct connection access, Mandiri Cash Bridge (ATM), Teller, Auto collection (Auto debit), and EDC Close Payment. EBPP has two types:biller-direct and bank aggregator. Biller-direct is electronic billing offered by a company providing goods or services. The company gives customers the option to pay bills directly on the website and notify them when payments are due via email. Customers then log into the site through a secure connection, review billing information, and enter payment amounts. Developing Electronic payment and presentment (EPP) in handling bills and payments is a complex task, due to the behavior of the parties concerned and their needs, requirements Management, integration with information systems, IT infrastructure, bank products offered and bank collaboration must be addressed. The task is also challenging as the literature acknowledges that IT projects can be high risk. (It was reported that 34% of IT projects were late or over budget,31% were abandoned, scaled-down, or altered, only 24% were completed on time and accordingly Budget, also that only 28% of software development projects can be successful).
