E-Commerce, or e-commerce, is the practice of doing commercial transactions through the internet. E-commerce includes the selling of goods and services to customers using electronic means, such as the Internet and the World Wide Web (Doolin, et al., 2005). In Indonesia, e-commerce is becoming more popular (DailySocial and Veritrans, 2012). The growing number of company owners that conduct their transactions online shows how crucial e-commerce is becoming to today’s businesses.
E-commerce is already a requirement in today’s business environment due of the many advantages it provides. As a result, customers don’t have a need to visit the shop in person to choose their purchases, and businesses may conduct transactions around the clock. Customers may save money by not having to go to the shop, and entrepreneurs can sell their businesses in a larger region by using shipping expenses that are far less expensive than those for traveling to the store themselves.
E-commerce has become a need in today’s business environment as a means of increasing competitiveness and boosting product sales. Selling and marketing operations are more efficient when e-commerce is used, which reduces transaction costs and speeds up the transaction process. Additionally, the quality of data transmission is superior to that of manual operations, where no re-entry is possible due to human mistake.
For businesses, e-commerce has the potential to save money on marketing, labor, and administrative expenses while allowing enterprises to reach a wider and faster audience.
