The Digital Workplace Strategy

The digital workplace can be considered as the natural evolution of the workplace, it includes the work environment technology of the employees. The digital workplace strategy involves action and commitment to exploit core competencies and gain a competitive advantage from a business through digital transformation in the workplace. This workplace transformation aims to provide digital, physical, and human work experiences that together promote collaboration and productivity while providing the best employee experiences. Governance and compliance are needed for collaboration and productivity to be effective; this involves a smart governance system that can be integrated into business operating systems. Smart digital governance in the workplace will later help to solve critical business needs that ensure all the information is in optimal digital channels – in turn, this will improve employee engagement and experience. This can be the biggest challenge, because maybe not all employees have a positive experience related to technology. Therefore, in implementing the digital workplace strategy, human resources are also the main focus, they need to be involved and invested even from the planning stage. Furthermore, the digital work environment must also be supported by the application of principles such as user-centricity, integration, openness, standardization, flexibility, transparency, and speed.
