Growth Through Talent

The establishment of a comprehensive talent and leadership strategy has been undertaken by several companies to enhance the growth and development of the talent of the employees. In this case the strategy of human resources is needed to give changes to the company. For example in this telecommunications company, Human Resources makes a program to support the growth of the company. The program is to refocus the recruitment process to hire a better person faster and at a lower cost, deploying the best talent for the most critical position, making people a key focus of the board meeting and business reviews, as well as introducing the “successor to the key performance indicators (KPIS)”. To develop the skills managers needed to foster growth, and the fieldwork in which they put this learning in practice through a real project to form a strategy. McKinsey also guides the board in a high potential mentoring manager to build leadership capabilities for the future. Finally, the program builds the effectiveness of HR functions by focusing on achieving the business impact as a strategic advisor to the board and line. The solution to the main talent problem was developed jointly by HR and the manager of the particular division, thus overcoming the historical distrust between the line and human resources. With the completion of the program, the talent and the corporate leadership line are sufficient for fuel growth over the next five years. The talent and leadership strategy made a significant contribution to the company’s overall success, with the share price doubling in five years – even against the backdrop of economic decline.
