Business Intelligence Enables Improved Revenue Management And Coding Quality

Improving IT capabilities brings business insight and increase revenue of $ 150 million per year. The client’s income depends on how accurately the health service provider codes the diagnosis. The client wants to ensure a fair share of the allocation funds. The client manages more than two data sets of claim and patient  data but not able to support the data effectively. Finally, McKinsey implemented a solution using business intelligence. The aim is to identify the coding for certain diseases and the quality of the coding is below average. The three steps are establish unified database, design medical rules, i.e. what should be done by compiling prescription drug, and execute  quarterly campaigns. These steps will help data analysis, resolve cases of inaccurate coding. These steps are done between client and team. By using this tool, enables to gain valuable insight and increase revenue.
