Is Agile Working the same as Flexible Working ?
Rapid changes in the world urge organizations to adapt quickly therefore the concept of agility is getting more frequent to discuss. The basic question: is agile working similar to flexible working ? Flexible working hours is the common term in describing about flexible working. Specifically flexible working is a way of working that suits an employee’s needs such as flexi time and mobile working. This term might cover part time job, home working and job sharing.
While agile working is a way of working in which an organisation empowers its people to work where, when and how they choose – with maximum flexibility and minimum constraints – to optimise their performance and to do their best work”. This definition is given by The British Computer Society.
The basic difference between the two kinds of working is about empowering. Agile working provides empowerment to each employee to achieve the best performance.
