Digital marketing communications are essentially the digital marketing equivalent of the traditional marketing communications mix. Using technology in communication has become a necessity, it’s now part of our lives. People communicate through emails, faxes, Mobile phones, texting services, video conferences, video chat rooms and social media channels. The use of digital marketing in the digital era not only allows for brands to market their products and services, but also allows for online customer support through 24/7 services to make customers feel supported and valued.
New media is used to describe content made available using different forms of electronic communication made possible through the use of computer technology. Computer Mediated Communication (CMC) disregards time and place dependence. Compared to face-to-face communication, CMC is not restricted in terms of time and place. This means that communication can happen anytime, anywhere.
Internet marketing strategy is the series of actions that are going to help us achieve our goal(s) using online marketing. An effective Internet marketing strategy should be aligned with business strategy, use clear objectives for business and brand development, and be consistent with the types of customers who use and can be effectively reached through the channel. The owned, earned, and paid media framework helps to categorize the digital ‘vehicles’, assets, or channels that we’re already using.
