Jakarta, 22 October 2025 – BINUS University hosted a Thought Leadership Talkshow titled “Indonesia–Australia Dialogue on Rethinking Leadership: The Paradoxes of Digital Transformation and Sustainable Impact.” The event brought together leaders from industry, government, and academia to discuss how digital transformation is reshaping leadership and organizational sustainability in today’s fast-evolving business environment.

The session featured distinguished speakers: Bima Tjahja, CEO of Mitra Bukalapak; Yessa A. Erriadita from Pertamina; Dr. Ubaidilah Nugraha from BRI Life; and Dr. Rifan Ardianto from the Ministry of Trade. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Marko S. Hermawan, CA, CPMA, ACPA, CertDA, from BINUS University, who guided the conversation around leadership paradoxes emerging from the digital transformation era.

Throughout the talk show, speakers shared insights on the complex challenges leaders face in balancing innovation and stability, technology adoption and human values, short-term results and long-term sustainability. They emphasized that true leadership today is not only about embracing digital tools but about aligning transformation with purpose, ethics, and social responsibility.

For Digital Business students, the dialogue offered valuable real-world perspectives that bridge theory with practice. Collaborating with RMIT University and the BINUS Center of Excellence in Sustainability, this Indonesia–Australia partnership underscored the importance of international collaboration in developing leaders equipped for the challenges of a global digital economy.

By exploring both the opportunities and paradoxes of digital transformation, the talk show encouraged participants to rethink what effective leadership means in the 21st century—where innovation must coexist with sustainability, and digital progress must always serve a greater human purpose.
