Etty Bachetta
Etty Bachetta is a seasoned fashion designer whose creative vision has reached important heights. With a fashion career spanning over three decades, Etty brings a unique blend of artistic excellence and cultural insight to our business programs, helping students understand how creativity combines with commercial success.
Etty first made waves in 1994 as the champion of Indonesia Fashion Mode, then went on to became the Muslim fashion scene by winning the national Busan Muslim Fashion Competition in 1995. That same year, she proved her versatility by sweeping both the Costume Design Award and the Best Costume Award at the Asian Games in Chiang Mai – showcasing her competence to blend athletic functionality with striking aesthetics.
Etty’s impact goes far beyond competitions. In 2003, she took the center stage at Jakarta’s Asian Leaders Summit, designing the official attire for Megawati Soekarnoputri (then President) and the Vice President. Her work has also leveraged the charm of Indonesia Idol contestants (2007) and Miss Indonesia pageant (2009).
What makes Etty particularly valuable as an educator is her international perspective. Having represented Indonesia among 17 nations across Asia, Southeast Asia, the Pacific, Uzbekistan, the UAE, and the Netherlands, she brings a truly global understanding of fashion to her teaching.
Recognized as an Inspiring Woman in 2007 & chosen as Miss Indonesia 2009 costume designer, Etty doesn’t just design clothes – she shapes how Indonesia presents itself to the world.
