Idea Finding
Creative Problem Solving (CPS) using Osborne-Parner’s method is still considered as the reliable option nowadays. Idea finding is a stage in that method, that were obtained after passing objective finding, fact finding, and problem finding stage. After problem defining has been done correctly aswell. Defining and identificating problem correctly and thoroughly could ease in bringing up creative ideas. In a well-define problem, everything is fully specified (Negel, S.S., 2001 : 34).
Solving an issue through compatible creative idea. Every one problem could bring up more than one creative idea, this point depends on how much people are being involved in that case or contributed from their perception. However, having alot of ideas not necessarily would give the best solution, but the best solution could be chosen from those many ideas that were brought up to become the absolute solution. Generate Ideas and Construct Solutions (Gundlach, C., 2007 : 97). Every ideas that were brought up should tends to be the solution of a problem, and from those solution should be chosen one main idea and some alternative idea that could be used as solution for the encountered issue.
How to find and applying ideas that were predicted as a solution ? To answer that question, you need to align ideas and resources available in solving the problem from the object encountered. Budgets needed, available technology, available experts, available tools are the things needs to be reconsidered in finding and determining ideas. Budgets is very important in determining ideas, because with budget, the deficiency of the other factor could be patched up. The ideas of cost–price chains and the need to identify the costs in a clear time frame within an economic and fiscal context demonstrate the necessity to be clear about whose cost it is and what the cost should include (Bryan, T., 2010 : 150).
A good idea is an idea that supports the efficiency and effectivity condition for operational of a venture, idea that needs less budget not necessarily more effective nor efficient if compared with idea that needs more budgets. However, ideas that needs more budget not necessarily would give a more optimal outcome. Based on that point, in determining the best ideas needs to be discussed with the available work group. Everyone in a work group will give input and thoughts about the best considered idea and could support venture operational more efficent and effectively. in order to give you an idea of the relative merits of each ide from the point of view energy saved per dollar spent, the last item in the discussion of each idea are materials cost, fuel reduction, and cost effectiveness (Anderson, B., 2002 : 8).
Determining and applying chosen idea tends to give the best solution. An idea were chosen because of an individual or certain group’s interests would give a bias solution and nonoptimal result. Every team member needs to give priority to group decision and result. Appreciating and respects work group’s decision is a characteristics of an adult thinking.
