Guest Lecture Session

On October 1, 2021, Binus Business School master track students had the opportunity to attend a guest lecture from Dr. Musdalifah Machmud, Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Republic of Indonesia. The event which took place at 14.30-16.00 was filled with the presentation of Mrs. Dr. Musdalifah about gender in Indonesia. She explained that the laws and government regulations have ensured that there is no gender discrimination both in government and in other areas of life. It is true that the number of women’s participation in politics and government is still lacking, but the government continues to try to boost the filling of these positions by women who are capable in their fields. The question and answer session was also interesting because the MM student from class IS17 was enthusiastic about asking about conflicts of interest that might arise from questions about this. In addition, the researcher also wants to make sure the promise to the government will discuss gender, especially during this covid pandemic.

The event closed with a group photo session and a more in-depth discussion between the ministry and representatives related to research in the field of gender.
