Ecotorusim tourism is a hot issue among academics and practitioners. Research on ecotourism is fundamental due to the increasing awareness of the need for sustainable tourism based on biodiversity and the empowerment of local communities. Therefore, the objectives of this study are map the current state of research and future research on the topic of ecotourism and sustainability tourism. The research approach uses a bibliometric approach, with the primary data source being articles contained in the Scopus database. The number of articles analyzed was 375 from 1993-2025. The analytical tools used were descriptive analysis and co-occurrence with VosViewer. The results show that four clusters show some of the topics explored and connected to ecotourism and sustainability tourism, namely, the first cluster (biodiversity, community participation, conservation, local community, protected areas, sustainable tourism development), the second cluster (ecotourism, stakeholders, tourism development, tourism management, tourism market, tourist behavior, tourist destination), the third cluster (ecology, economics, environmental management, environmental protection, and sustainable development), the fourth cluster (ecological impact, nature conservation, nature-based-ecotourism, and sustainable tourism). From the four clusters, it can be concluded that there are 4 significant topics of interest to be investigated in relation to ecotourism and sustainability tourism, namely, Bio-Harmony, Ecotourism Dynamics, Eco-Sustainability Nexus, and Green Consciousness. Another result of this research is that in the future, we can explore topics such as stakeholders, local communities, protected areas, and tourist destinations. © 2026, Malque Publishing.
