According to Blibli’s CEO, Kusumo Martanto, data mining or big data is adapted by Blibli as a tool to know their customers’ tendency in particular or specific day. This thing is what triggers Blibli to come up with more innovation through promotions that are more right on the target to retain their customers. The outcomes of this program of Blibli are known as Monday’s Mom Day, Rabu Cantik, Kamis Ganteng, and many more to keep loyal customers and attract potential customers through this kind of innovation by promotions. They believe that the more customers’ data are obtained from various sources, like customers’ searching history and history of purchase, the more it will also enable Blibli to segment their customers, and maintain the number of customers by designing new content and promotions that are more personalized to the customers. From the concept of data mining and how Blibli as the growing e-commerce in Indonesia tries to utilize it for their business strategy, we can see that big data needs to be maximized in order for a company to achieve their objectives. As a result, we can finally see how data mining has relevance with not only Blibli’s business strategy, but with the whole idea of business strategies in general. Data mining basically supports companies with the required information concerning the business. In addition, the only way to get the most out of customers’ data is to mine them to increase decision-making or to enable business intelligence to begin with.

http://www.ebaytechblog.com/2010/10/20/data-mining-and-e-commerce/ https://dailysocial.id/post/big-data-e-commerce-sales http://www.ukdw.ac.id/id/post/view/395-kuliah-umum-fti-bersama-blibli-com
Kohavi, R., & Provost, F.
