{"id":2355,"date":"2025-11-27T09:52:44","date_gmt":"2025-11-27T02:52:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bbs.binus.ac.id\/bbslab\/?p=2355"},"modified":"2025-11-27T09:52:52","modified_gmt":"2025-11-27T02:52:52","slug":"team-jumbo-wins-3rd-place-at-inbiz-paper-competition-2025-with-their-green-tech-material-innovation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bbs.binus.ac.id\/bbslab\/2025\/11\/team-jumbo-wins-3rd-place-at-inbiz-paper-competition-2025-with-their-green-tech-material-innovation\/","title":{"rendered":"Team Jumbo Wins 3rd Place at INBIZ Paper Competition 2025 with Their Green-Tech Material Innovation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">We are excited to celebrate another remarkable achievement from BINUS University\u2014this time from <strong>Team Jumbo<\/strong>, who secured <strong>3rd Place at the INBIZ Paper Competition 2025<\/strong> with their forward-thinking green-material solution:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>\u201cAdvancing Green Industry Through Bamboo Bio-Composite Innovation: Transforming Organic Waste into High-Value Functional Materials.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Following a series of strong performances in previous competitions, Team Jumbo once again demonstrates that sustainable innovation is not only about technology\u2014it is about elevating local resources into impactful, scalable industrial solutions.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>\ud83c\udf3f Addressing Industrial Challenges with Sustainable Materials<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Today\u2019s construction and automotive industries heavily rely on synthetic materials such as fiberglass, carbon fiber, and petroleum-based plastics\u2014materials known for their durability but also for their high carbon footprint, complex waste issues, and long-term environmental harm.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Team Jumbo identified a tremendous opportunity:<br \/>\nIndonesia owns <strong>over 2 million hectares of bamboo forests<\/strong>, yet most of this valuable resource is exported in raw form at a very low price (Rp1,000\u20132,000\/kg).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Through material engineering, the team showed that bamboo can be transformed into <strong>high-performance bio-composites<\/strong>with:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Superior mechanical strength<\/li>\n<li>Competitive thermal stability<\/li>\n<li>Lightweight and flexible properties<\/li>\n<li>Biodegradable composition<\/li>\n<li>Significantly lower environmental impact<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">And most importantly\u2014<strong>up to 90x higher economic value<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>\ud83d\udca1 The Core Innovation: Bamboo Bio-Composite with the Lyocell Method<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Their research produced an advanced bamboo-based bio-composite using an environmentally friendly Lyocell process, enabling:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u2714 Cleaner chemical processing<br \/>\n\u2714 Solvent recovery &amp;
