They Didn’t Expect to Win, But They Did.

For Edbert, Dianne, and Jocelyn, BIC Biconation 2026 was more than just another competition. It was a first step into the world of business competitions, especially for two members of the team who had never participated in a business competition before.
With 57 other teams competing, there was definitely a lot to learn. And they embraced it.
From asking questions, actively learning, digging deeper into the case, to continuously improving their ideas, the team showed incredible enthusiasm throughout the process. Even as first-timers, they were never afraid to learn something new. More importantly, they showed up with confidence and gave it their all.
But after the competition, when asked how they felt about their chances of winning, their answer was surprisingly honest:
“It is what it is ya kak, huhu, jujur ga pede menang.”
And then came the result.
5th Place.
Not Top 3. Not the podium they might have imagined. But out of 57 teams, this first time team made it all the way to 5th Place and for them, that was already something worth being incredibly proud of.
The team behind this achievement:
- Edbert Corady Gomez – International Business Management (Global Class)
- Dianne Isabelle Gosali – Business Creation
- Jocelyn – International Business Management
Their journey was also supported by Nabila Rachmadania as their coach, who accompanied them throughout the competition.
Maybe they entered the competition without knowing exactly what to expect. Maybe they weren’t even confident they would win.
But they learned. They asked. They tried. They showed up.
Congratulations, team! 5th Place out of 58 teams is one heck of a first step.
To everyone in BBCG who’s still waiting for the “right time” to join a competition!! Maybe you don’t need to feel ready first.
Just start. Learn along the way. And let your first try surprise you.
