BINUS University Takes Home 1st Place as “Pelita” Leads the Competition with a Breakthrough UI/UX Solution for ASD Education
We’re thrilled to announce that Team Triple Shot from BINUS University has won 1st Place with their groundbreaking UI/UX innovation project: Pelita, an inclusive learning platform designed to support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and empower their parents with structured guidance.
Rather than creating just another educational app, the team tackled a real and deeply personal challenge faced by millions of Indonesian families—how to help parents feel more confident, supported, and guided while assisting their ASD child’s daily learning at home.
Their solution, Pelita, is built through extensive research, empathy mapping, design thinking, and direct input from psychologists and ASD specialists. The platform delivers a meaningful and personalized learning experience through a fully integrated ecosystem:
✨ Pre-Test Screening
A quick assessment that helps identify each child’s ability level before learning begins.
🤖 AI-Adaptive Learning Modules
Personalized lessons that adjust difficulty based on the child’s pace, errors, and learning behavior.
🎮 Interactive Mini Games
Engaging, reward-based activities to help children stay motivated and positively reinforced.
📘 Parenting Guide Hub
Evidence-based tips, routines, and clear learning guidance designed specially for parents of ASD children.
📊 Jejakku – Progress Tracking
A visual and easy-to-read metrics dashboard that helps parents understand their child’s development over time.
🩺 KonsulYuk – Consultation With Experts
A direct-access channel for parents to communicate with psychologists and medical professionals when needed.
Through their research, the team highlighted the urgency of this solution:
👦 2.4 million children in Indonesia are diagnosed with ASD
📈 +45,000 new cases every year
🏫 Limited access to inclusive schools
💛 High parental stress due to lack of structured guidance
😕 Confusion about suitable teaching methods at home
Pelita addresses all of these pain points by combining adaptive learning, expert guidance, reward-based activities, and accessible UX tailored to ASD needs—ensuring a calm, structured, and empowering experience for both parents and children.
Richita, Angela, and Christian didn’t just build a product—
they built a companion, one that helps parents feel seen, supported, and no longer alone in their journey.
Their victory showcases how thoughtful design, empathy-driven insight, and strong user research can create real, impactful change in inclusive education across Indonesia.
Congratulations, Team Triple Shot!
Your achievement is a powerful reminder that innovation isn’t just about technology—it’s about humanity.
