We’re thrilled to announce that Team BioGrow from BINUS University has earned 2nd Place at the PETROLIDA International Business Case Competition 2025, held by Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya.

Their idea stood out in a highly competitive field of international teams, thanks to their bold and creative approach to helping Gen Z manage money smarter—without the boring stuff. The team developed a strategic campaign for blu by BCA Digital, aiming to help blu become the #1 financial partner for university students in Indonesia. They created a complete ecosystem called bluUniverse, made up of four integrated features:

  1. bluAssist – An AI-powered chat assistant that gives students personalized finance advice
  2. bluInsight – Fun, interactive modules for learning money skills (with games, quizzes & XP points!)
  3. bluLifestyle – Exclusive perks like pre-sale concert tickets to keep users engaged
  4. In-App Enhancements – Smarter budgeting tools and helpful reminders

Here’s what the team projected blu could achieve by implementing bluUniverse over the next five years:

  • 🧠 +65% in active users
  • 💰 Rp 22.7 billion in revenue
  • 📈 19% Net Profit Margin
  • 🧍‍♂️ 4 million projected users
  • 📉 30% reduction in customer churn

With more than 68% of students wanting to learn about personal finance and many already using AI to help them, the team hit the sweet spot between education, technology, and lifestyle.

Kenrick and Venny didn’t just create a business solution—they created a student-centered experience that makes financial learning fun, relevant, and personal. By combining empathy, insight, and strategy, they proved that Gen Z doesn’t need more rules—they need the right tools.
