This course to provide students with the opportunity to combine statistical knowledge, computer and statistical software skills, and interpretative and critical thinking skills. Advance concepts in statistics are introduced from the perspective of empirical inquiry and case study. After completing this course, students will be able to know: how to extract meaningful information from piles of raw data; how to make inferences about the nature of population based on observations of a sample taken from that population; how to predict the rates of occurrences of random events; how to use statistical software to explore the data and find realistic relationships in the variables; how to understand and interpret statistical calculations and also making decisions.
Managing Business Information
Software/Application: Microsoft Excel & Google Data Studio
This course introduces the concepts and applications of information management and analytics in business. Topics covered in this course will equip students with the knowledge and skills of data and information management, big data technology, and business analytics, including descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics. This course provides hands-on practice on how to use Microsoft Excel for data analytics. At the end of the course, students will conduct group work to formulate and apply data analytics techniques to solve a business problem of their choice.
