“The Five Marketers” which consists of five students of Creative Marketing BINUS BUSINESS SCHOOL managed to claim the greatest prize on Marketition 2016. Erwin, Karyn Susanto, Riska Nur Putri, Ester Natasia, and Melita Budiman joined together with their campaign slogan of “Don’t Dream” to come out on top on the final stage of the competition with 197 participants from various universities in Indonesia.
Marketition is an annual case study-based marketing competition held by Universitas Prasetiya Mulya. In this national competition, participants are required to solve real cases by implementing marketing theories. For Marketition 2016, Sequis online was chosen as the case study.
The Five Marketers said that insurances and its products are still viewed negatively by Indonesians. Thus, they want to change this perception by assuring people that they have to overcome obstacles before achieving goals.
Team used 360-degree camera and virtual reality (VR) to elaborate their campaign. By using these technologies, audience can feel the actual nuance through simulation videos in which they will have dreams and eventually realize the importance of insurance.
By campaigning “Don’t Dream”, The Five Marketers want to underline how people will always have to face obstacle in pursuing their dreams. In the end, insurance are needed in order to lower the risks that might they get throughout their efforts. Team believe that their method offers new insight and increases people’s awareness of the importance of insurance.
At final stage, The Five Marketers managed to eliminate other nine finalists, including PR3MAX from Universitas Surabaya and SBM ITB’s Acitya. With 8 minutes presentation plus 7 minutes question-and-answer session, they were able to convince all of the four judges, one of them is the representative of Sequis Online. (ERON)
