BBS Alumni Association’s New Committee Focuses on Contributing to BBS and the Country

JWC, Senayan-BINUS Business School (BBS) Alumni Association’s new committe member for the 2015-2018 term were sworn-in Wednesday evening (13/1) at JWC Campus, Senayan. The committee plans to reinvigorate alumni activities and seeks to contribute to Binus in particular as well as Indonesia in general.

BBS Dean Firdaus Alamsyah in the inauguration’s opening stated that alumni are the an educational institution’s invaluable asset and can be a measure of the institution’s success. “Alumni are Binus’ main products that should be conserved. In addition, Binus wants to maintain close and good relationships across industries through alumni,” said Firdaus Alam, more familiarly known as Ferry.

Ferry added, in order to keep up-to-date with industries, BBS formed BBS Advisory Council, consisting of the Telkom Director Indra Utoyo, former Garuda Indonesia President Director Emirsyah Satar, Astra International’s Chief Human Capital Development Aloysius Budi Santoso, and Commonwealth Bank Indonesia’s President Director Tony Costa. For a background information, one of the council members, Indra Utoyo attended the ceremony and delivered his presentation about leadership and the roles of a master of business graduate at the face of competition over ASEAN economic community era.

Ferry hopes, alumni can make contributions to BBS by means of involvement in academic as well as non-academic processes with BBS students, for instance delivering guest lectures in classes, becoming the students’ coaches in preparation for business case competitions, and various other activities that impact BBS student in particular as well as Indonesia in general. Responding to Ferry’s suggestions, President of BBS Alumni Association for the term 2015-2018, Panca Sarungu, stated in his speech that this is time for him and the committee members to give back what they have enjoyed during their study at BBS.

“The first thing we will do is bringing together more than 3,500 BBS alumni,” said Panca Sarungu. For his office period, Panca plans various activities to achieve the purpose of BBS Alumni Association’s establishment as the vanguard of knowledge and skills implementation as well as an active participant Indonesia’s development, apart from growing emotional attachments between alumni and BBS itself.

Based on the organizational structure, Panca tops 3 functional pillars, each is responsible for co-operation with external parties (External and Partnership Programme), alumni network and relations (Alumni Connection & Networking), as well as alumni internal empowerment programmes (Alumni Internal Empowerment Programme).

BBS Alumni Association stewardship for the 2015-2016 office period comprise Panca Sarungu (2004 Alumni/ and CEO) as President of BBS Alumni Association, Alexander Zulkarnain (2015 Alumni/Gold’s Gym Indonesia’s Marketing and Brand Manager) as Vice President, Marjuky (2012 Alumni/PT Pharos Indonesia’s General Manager Technology and Development) as BBS Secretary General, supported by 3 teams in diverse functions, namely the Activation and External Partnership Programme, Alumni Connection and Networking, and Alumni Internal Empowerment Programme.
