BINUS University’s Doctor of Research in Management Program has just produced another graduate. Lukas Tanutama received his doctorate in Management in the Business Information System Management stream, after finishing his dissertation defense in the hall of Anggrek Campus, on the 21st of June.
Prof. Dr. Ir. HarjantoPrabowo, MM, BINUS University’s Rector, acted as the leader of the examination,with a team of examiners consisting of Dr. DyahBudiastuti, Jap TjiBeng, Ir, MM, Ph.D, and Bens Pardamean, B.Sc, M.Sc, Ph.D. The lead promoter for the candidate was Prof. Dr. GerardusPolla, M.App.Sc with Raymondus Raymond Kosala, Ph.D and Richard Kumardjaja as co-promoters.
With his dissertation titled‘Generating Value Added Services for Internet Service Provider through Network Traffic Data Mining’, Lukas presented the use of corporate networks as the Infrastructure of Information Technology and Communication. He also provided an image of the creation of positive opportunities from the Internet network that could later be given to the Internet Service Providers of corporate customers and used purely for the purpose of business related to information and knowledge.
Lukas revealed that the research itself was focused on unexplored activities; for example, revealing activity on the Internet received from data packages so that customers and service providers can develop the service’s positive aspects.
Lukas divided his dissertation into four novel characteristics which included: Network Infrastructure Characteristics, User Characteristics, Accessibility Characteristics and Activity Characteristics. He managed to get an A with a “very satisfying” note from the examiners.
The guest speaker, Ir. KuncoroWatuwibowo, M.Sc, the leader of IEEE Section Indonesia, also witnessed Lukas’s dissertation, and emphasized how important the Internet & communication technology, electronic and serospace systemsare for daily life. IEEE Section Indonesia is a partner of BINUS University.
The Doctorate program was established in 2011 and emphasizes knowledge development management that combines the elements of knowledge, best practice, and the use of Information Technology and Communication. (RAW)
