Good Campus Networking to Support Needs of the Professionals

The high degree of competition in industry demands that industry players continually expand their expertise and know-how. Education plays a very big role in this. The growth of the economy and business expansion has been a prime motivator for professionals to want to continue their education to higher levels. A good higher level of education which can help respond to the needs of the professionals – especially in the business sector – is not that easy to find.

To meet such a demand from business professionals, BINUS BUSINESS SCHOOL (BBS) has always tried to provide the best choices. With quality lecturers, each with experience in industry; the highest level of accreditation which is nationally recognized; and good facilities, BBS offers graduate (S2) programs needed by professionals in this highly competitive era.

These sentiments were noted in ‘Info Session MM Young Professional’ and ‘Professional Program’, held at the Joseph Wibowo Center, on May 8. Attended by 25 participants, the info session kicked off with an overview about the MM Young Professional and Professional Program presented by Firdaus Alamsjah, Ir., MSIE, Ph.D., Executive Dean of BINUS BUSINESS SCHOOL.

Firdaus Alamsjah informed the participants about the nature of the S2 program at BBS. The participants also expressed what they wanted from an S2 program. They asked many questions related to lecturers and the network the campus has developed.

“Our lecturers have been producing case study reports on major enterprises in the country. This is one example of how the lecturers here and, the name of BINUS are well connected with industry,” said Firdaus.

Participants – all of whom were potential MM program participants – got the chance to learn in depth about the programs in MM BBS, such as Creative Marketing, Business Management and Applied Finance. For this reason, the heads of each program were also present.

Aside from the overview of the MM program at BBS, there was a session in which the participants were grouped in three teams, each for one of the three programs.

In the Creative Marketing group, Rini Setiowati, SE, MBA, Head of the Graduate Program, in the School of Marketing delivered a presentation to the participants. In a separate room, Alex Wollenberg of International Business shared a little of his vast experience prior to joining with BBS. After Alex, it was then the turn of Pantri Heriyati, Head of Program – Graduate School of Management to do the same. In another room, Toto Rusmanto, Head of the Graduate Program, in the School of Accounting and Finance, presented information related to the finance program. (RAW)
