After successfully organized CEO SPEAKS on LEADERSHIP with Danone a few while back, BINUS BUSINESS SCHOOL is back to organize CEO SPEAKS on LEADERSHIP with the President Director of PT Indosat Tbk, Alexander Rusli, Ph. D.
The purpose of this event, which took place at BINUS Senayan Campus – The Joseph Wibowo Center for Advanced Learning (JWC), was not only to share information with students and professionals from different business and media. Moreover, this event was aimed to dig deeper about the transformation conducted by PT Indosat Tbk and their strategies to achieve their goals.
As we all know, as one of the leading companies in telecommunication and information in Indonesia, Indosat has been performing numerous transformations. It started as a satellite operator in 1967, it became a cellular operator in the 2000s and now it has become a reputable technology company chosen by many for their information and communication necessities, including services for GSM, CDMA, multimedia, internet and data communication.
Research plays a huge part for these changes and progress. They have been performing numerous approaches when it comes to telecommunication needs, which in turn, has been creating changes in interactions. In the old times, people usually communicate through cellular phones, SMS and e-mail. Nowadays, the features are more global, with social media, video chat and youtube.
All of these changes are supporting the revolution of the company’s vision. At the moment, they need the best effort and performance from the team. Back then, the company stressed on the superiority of bosses towards their staff and long line of bureaucracy in conducting their business. However, the speaker realized that these days, the company’s leader need to be close to the society if they want to gain success.
Brave leaders must also be open towards their staff and put themselves on the same level to understand the culture and the needs of their staff. This way, they will be able to improve their company and lead in a better way, as they open themselves to new things at the same time.
The cooperation within the team and the opportunity to approach the society will create a new atmosphere, in which the society’s trust for the company continues to grow. This way, the company will be able to develop their well-managed strategies and create the correct executions or actions.
This new atmosphere will create an impact, especially for the company’s unique image. In time, this will develop into a culture. As the company continues to develop, they will be able to educate their employees to show their best performance.
