Once more, BINUS create a memorable achievement on an international level. On 25 January 2012, School of Finance BINUS INTERNATIONAL was awarded with international accounting accreditation from CPA Australia. CPA Australia is a professional accounting institution from the “Kangaroo Country”.
Head of Program – Undergraduate Accounting and Finance, Ari Barkah Djamil, MM.Sc, said this accreditation provides a major benefit for BINUS INTERNATIONAL. “With this accreditation, it will be easier for accounting and finance students of BINUS INTERNATIONAL to earn CPA certification,” Ari explained.
“In order to obtain CPA, students have to pass two different phases, which are the foundation level and professional level. Now, with this accreditation, students of BINUS INTERNATIONAL can skip the foundation level,” Ari explained on a phone interview, Friday (3/1).
According to Ari, the syllabus of School of Accounting and Finance contributed greatly in their effort to achieve the accreditation. Ari said that the syllabus is quite similar to the foundation level of CPA Australia. “Moreover, BINUS INTERNATIONAL is now entering the internationalization year and we are using English as one of the working languages,” he said.
Adi hoped, with this accreditation, students of School of Accounting and Finance will have a better opportunity on international level. “I hope they will get jobs on international-scaled industry. I am very optimistic because there are a lot CEOs and CFOs with backgrounds of CPA certification,” he said. (RA)
